Black Mothers Matter

To mitigate racial disparities in maternal health, Black women need access to Black care providers and culturally appropriate support for natural, empowering birth.

Black Mothers die more. That’s not okay.

We’re here to help…

Financially. We want more Black women in the U.S. to have positive birth experiences and outcomes. Black Birth is a scholarship fund dedicated to improving Black maternal health and wellbeing. We provide financial scholarships to Black women pursuing doula and midwifery training.

Loretta Ross

Women are returning to midwifery care as the norm, and many see midwives as guardians of normal birth. Black midwives are keeping it real and empowering families. It is up to all of us to ensure that this movement toward birth justice continues.
